I have never understood the decadent behavior of non-heterosexual people, and their need to exhibit themselves to the general populace.
Frankly speaking, most people do not care. People to not care about the nocturnal adventures of others, whether they are straight or homosexual. Most people – at least people I like to associate myself with – care about the individual merit of a person. Ones sexual preferences has little or no bearing in an otherwise productive individual.
I have always felt disdain towards people propagating and attending pride parades. When I look at those people, I rarely see any substance in them. Just emptiness, and a lot of it. Yes, they are gay, and otherwise enjoying their lives. They might even wish to do good and to be nice people, but it is very difficult to take attention-whores seriously. I just don’t see anything genuine that would draw me to those people. In the majority of cases it would be even impossible to have any kind of an intelligent conversation with them. If anything is certain, then it is the fact, that no person who is to be taken seriously – whether he/she(sic!) is hetero or homosexual – will attend such parades.
Organizing rallies and events might make some sense if people were actually persecuted, as is the case in some Gulf-States and in some medieval cultures, where homosexuality can be punishable by death. It is not, however, the case in the civilized world. Yet I see no Social Justice Warriors championing for the lives of convicted homosexuals in Saudi Arabia.
Pride parades and the moral and cultural decline exhibited by various non-heterosexual lobby-groups and NGO’s actually work against homosexual people. Many of them just want to live normal lives, without drawing unnecessary attention to themselves. Instead, they get more looks and raised eyebrows, through no fault of their own.
The ones abused the most however, are children, or anyone unable to engage in a rational thought process. Small children are especially vulnerable, as they take adult people as authority figures. If they continuously see adult-looking people behaving in amoral ways, while chanting about equality, then it will inevitably affect them in a detrimental way. Instead of striving for bettering themselves to improve their quality of life, they will learn that all that matters, is being gay, and that everyone must be equal.
I will, teach my future children, that the opposite of equality is quality. And so should You.
